
American University Scholarships An important task of the PhD project is to study the presence of selenium in the archives of the continent such as the Loess deposits and peat swamps. Therefore, this PhD project has a strong focus on solid phase material, ie rock, soil and peat and involves the use of HG-AFS, ICP-MS/ICP-OES, XRF, XRD and synchrotron-based techniques. The mobility of selenium in this guide will be investigated in field and laboratory. We offer a growing research environment that involves collaboration with leading international partner institutions.
We are American University Scholarships looking for people who are highly motivated skilled and interested in a challenging interdisciplinary research interests in Quaternary geology and inorganic geochemistry. Candidates who earned a master's degree in science, soil science or equivalent and have a strong background in instrumental analysis. American University Scholarships Fluency in English is mandatory and a good knowledge of German is an additional asset. Ideally, the work starts between August 2011 and October 2011. Place of work for this position is Eawag in Dübendorf (near Zurich) (www.eawag.ch).
